BIO
The architect Zdeněk Fránek has to his credit a long list of prestigious architectural
realisations, including sacred buildings. As an instructor, he has conveyed his experience
to students at home and abroad.
CV
Born in 1961 in Boskovice. After studying at the Faculty of Architecture at the Brno University of Technology, he worked at the Institute of Architecture in Blansko, and in 1989 he founded the firm Fránek Architects. He is currently engaged in design, publishing and teaching activities at home and abroad.
From 2012 to 2018 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec.
He has realized a number of exhibitions, including the 2007 exhibition Perspectives at the Jaroslav Frágner Gallery in Prague, the 2011-2012 exhibition The Guts of Architecture at the Brno House of Arts, the 2012 exhibition at the CCC Gallery in Beijing, the 2016 exhibition Measure & Scale at the Jaroslav Frágner Gallery in Prague, the 2019 exhibition Mental Relief at the House of Arts in České Budějovice, and the 2020 exhibition Figures at the Jaroslav Sutnar Gallery in Pilsen.
Abroad, he has lectured at the universities of Ghent, Utrecht, Hildesheim, New Delhi, Beijing, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City, New Orleans, Vienna and others.
